News in brief: BattleFace, Jyrney and more

BattleFace, the insurance company, has launched a new policy for space tourists. It covers accidental death and permanent disablement and is valid for any of the space flights operated by Tesla Founder Elon Musk’s SpaceX, Amazon CEO Jess Bezos’s Blue Origin, Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic and others.

Mobility technology platform Jyrney has appointed car rental executive Mark Servodidio to its advisory board. Servodidio held senior roles at Avis Budget Group for nearly 20 years, most recently as President at Avis Budget Group International.

Pan Pacific London opens today in the landmark tower at One Bishopsgate Plaza, Liverpool Street. It has 237 guest rooms and suites, including a signature Pan Pacific Suite on the 19th floor, plus a ballroom accommodating up to 400 guests, an Event Emporium and a further nine innovative and flexible meeting and events venues.

CWT has promoted Ian Cummings to Global Head of CWT Meetings & Events. Based in London, he will report to Niklas Andreen, CWT’s Chief Operating Officer, and serve as a member of the Customer and Travel Experience Leadership Team. Cummings has worked for CWT for nine years.

Motel One is due to open its first Scandivian property in October following the conclusion of a lease agreement with Pandox in Copenhagen. The design-budget hotel group will take over the operations of the existing h27 hotel in the city centre close to the City Hall and the Tivoli.
