News briefs: YOTEL, Etihad, Expensify, Center Parcs and IACC

YOTEL
has partnered with Singapore-based Frasers Hospitality to open the first YOTEL hotel in Japan in early 2025. YOTEL Tokyo Ginza is only a 15-minute walk from Tokyo Station, providing easy access to most parts of Japan via the main Shinkansen high-speed rail terminal and serving as the city’s main gateway to Narita International Airport through the Narita Express. Featuring 244 rooms, the hotel will include a signature robotic concierge, motorised SmartBeds and fully integrated technologies.

Expensify has added the capability for expense tracking for self-employed professionals in its new Expensify platform. The upgrade makes it possible to track receipts, mileage, or manual amounts in one place. These can then be categorised and shared with an accountant for tax purposes, for collaboration directly within the app. Plus, members can chat with teammates, customers, clients, vendors, suppliers, and friends with the ability to respond by email, text, or chat.

Etihad Airways will begin flights to Paris, CDG from November 1, 2024 on its A380 double-decker. The French capital becomes the third major city to receive the Etihad A380 experience after London and New York. Economy passengers can take advantage of 68 seats offering four inches more legroom and 337 Smart seats. While on the upper deck, Business Studios feature 70 private spots, complemented by The Lobby lounge area. First Apartments have nine private spaces, designer tableware, leather chairs and a big ottoman-bed. First-class guests also receive personal amenities and can enjoy an exclusive shower room.

Center Parcs Conferences & Events has launched a Twilight Spa Package for business clients, available as an add-on to any corporate event at its Sherwood Forest or Woburn Forest venues. The package includes exclusive hire of the Aqua Sana spa facilities, with access to 25 multi-sensory experience rooms, and two therapist-led discovery and sleep sessions. Also included is a Mediterranean platter and glass of prosecco. The offer is available for bookings of 90-200 people as part of a corporate event with Center Parcs, with prices starting at £5000 + VAT.

IACC has launched a new membership category, Experiential Venues, designed to cater to the growing demand for immersive and engaging event experiences. The new membership will cater for high level experiential venues such as sporting stadiums, vineyards, zoos, museums, with the ability to host a meeting alongside an experience for groups. Members will benefit from access to IACC’s global gathering place for conference venue professionals, a portfolio of educational resources and development tools.
