Travelodge has opened the 151-room Travelodge London Stratford Centre, its 86th property in London. A conversion from a former, empty office building, the hotel has been refitted the latest Travelodge brand standards and features its popular 85 Bar Café. In Stratford town centre, just a short walk from Stratford Station, the hotel offers excellent Underground, National Rail and DLR connections and is close to Westfield Stratford City, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and the London Stadium.
Lufthansa Group has introduced a specialist academic fare contract following years of campaigning from travel management company DGI, which specialises in the academic and non-profit sectors. DGI has been pushing for more specialist fares across the airline industry and submitted a formal written proposal to Lufthansa in September 2024 on the issue. The new fare covers all airlines in the Lufthansa Group – Lufthansa, Brussels Airlines, Austrian Airlines, SWISS International Air Lines, and Eurowings – and offers significantly enhanced flexibility and can be held until 14 days prior to departure.
Advantage Travel Partnership has signed a partnership with Hubby eSIM that will give Advantage members the ability to offer fully-branded, affordable and instant mobile internet to customers around the world. Under the agreement, Hubby’s branded eSIM platform will be made available as a value add across Advantage’s network, providing travel agents and travel management companies with a ready-made way to keep travellers connected.
Air India and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have signed a commercial cooperation framework agreement to deepen their long-standing partnership. Subject to regulatory approvals, the airlines are looking to enable seamless connections and more route options, and allow customers to book flights across both airlines under a single unified journey. They are aiming to more closely coordinate flight schedules to improve convenience for customers and could also expand to include greater cross-participation in the airlines’ corporate travel programmes. Further details will be announced as the plans are finalised.
