Etihad Airways will add seven additional new destinations to further expand its network as part of its ongoing strategy to bring more point-to-point traffic directly to Abu Dhabi. In November it will begin flights to Medina, Saudi Arabia, and in March 2026 it will add Almaty, Kazakhstan; Baku, Azerbaijan; Bucharest, Romania; Tbilisi, Georgia; Tashkent, Uzbekistan; and Yerevan, Armenia.
Travelodge has signed an agreement to acquire the freehold of a strategically-located building on the outskirts of central Madrid. This transaction brings the company’s total number of hotels in the region to 13. Subject to approvals, it plans to convert the property into a modern 90-room hotel aligned with the brand’s latest design standards. Work is expected to start in 2026 with the hotel slated to open in summer 2027.
Retailaer, the airline retailing and distribution platform, has completed the first phase of its integration with Air Europa, providing travel agents worldwide with a shopping and servicing experience that integrates flights, ancillaries, and third-party services in Retailaer’s Offer and Order Management System (OMS). It will initially launch in Spain with a selected number of partners with plans for a global rollout later in the year.
YOTEL plans to expand its European footprint with the launch of YOTELPAD Athens, a 113-key urban aparthotel set across three centrally- located buildings in the Greek capital. The brand’s debut in Greece, YOTELPAD Athens is due to open in the last quarter of 2026. Each building will feature studios and one-bedroom apartments plus YOTELPAD’s signature amenities, including Mission Control, Grab+Go, Wash+Go, and fully equipped gyms. One will also have a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the Athenian skyline.
