Lufthansa Group is now offering green fare tariffs on its long-haul flights.
Green Fares, which are already available for short- and medium-haul flights, will now be bookable in all travel classes on long-haul routes from December 4.
The sustainable tickets includes the full offsetting of the individual, flight-related CO2 emissions through the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and a contribution to the Lufthansa Group’s high-quality climate project portfolio.
For flights within Europe and North Africa, 20% of CO2 emissions are reduced through SAF and 80% are offset through climate protection projects.
On intercontinental routes, 10% of CO2 emissions are reduced through SAF and 90% are offset through climate protection projects.
Green Fares also offer additional miles and points, as well as the option to rebook free of charge.
Since its launch in 2023, more than two million passengers have offset the equivalent of more than 1,300 flights from Munich to New York with an Airbus A350.
Green Fares are available for flights operated by Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, SWISS, Edelweiss, Discover Airlines and Air Dolomiti.

Chief Technology Officer Grazia Vittadini added: “With the Green Fares, we are now offering a solution worldwide that shows that more sustainable flying is already a reality, especially through the use of SAF.”
