Turkish Airlines adds Ankara flights from London

Turkish Airlines has commenced a new service from London Gatwick to Ankara, the Turkish capital.

The overnight flights operate twice weekly – on Wednesdays and Saturdays – and it becomes the UK’s only direct service to the city.

“Gatwick is delighted to further strengthen the airport’s short-haul connections and welcome this brand new route to Ankara,” says the airport’s Head of Airline Relations, Stephen King.

“We are looking forward to positioning this global model with our multinational customers.”

King continues: “This new route to the Turkish capital brings the number of capital cities served by the airport to 48, as part of the extensive 228 destinations in 74 countries flown to from Gatwick.”

Celal Baykal, Turkish Airlines General Manager in London, adds: “This new route is being launched in direct response to increased demand from our customers across the country, and is further evidence of our commitment to exceeding passenger needs.”
