Eurostar to expand Netherlands services

Eurostar will add a third daily service from London St Pancras to Rotterdam and Amsterdam this summer "in direct response to customer demand".

The new service, for which tickets are now on sale, will commence on June 11.

Launched last April, Eurostar’s services between London and the Netherlands – which also stop in Brussels – take 3hrs 13mins to Rotterdam and 3hrs 52mins to Amsterdam.

Its timetable from June will comprise early morning (07.16), mid-morning (11.04) and early evening (17.16) departures from St Pancras. Return journeys require a change of trains in Brussels until a customs, immigration and security arrangement is reached with Dutch authorities.

“Our new route to the Netherlands has been met with strong demand from our customers, who increasingly value the ease, comfort and seamless experience of high-speed rail,” says Eurostar Chief Executive, Mike Cooper.

“A third train each day will boost capacity whilst offering more choice and flexibility to travellers connecting between these European cities.”

Fares start from £35 one way.
