The latest addition to Virgin Atlantic’s fleet, four A350s will join the airline’s fleet by the end of 2019 operating daily flights between London and New York.
The airline will also take delivery of a further eight A350’s throughout 2020-2021.
All of the carrier’s initial A350 deliveries will be based at London Heathrow.
From 2021, the final five new planes will operate routes to Florida and the Caribbean from London Gatwick and Manchester Airport as the airline beings to retire its 747 fleet.
The A350 is the first Virgin Atlantic aircraft that has the new social space known as The Loft. The plane also features the Upper Class suite with window-facing seats and deployable privacy screens.
The premium and economy cabins have also been updated.
Virgin also announced in June that it has ordered an additional 14 Airbus A330-900neos to join its fleet, with another six as options.
