Uber survey identifies the highs and lows of business travel

Business travellers want trips that blend productivity with premium perks, stress-free transport, rewards for personal trips and some ‘me time’, according to a survey of 1,000 travelling employees by Uber for Business.

The survey found that almost 60% are adding extra days for personal travel, while another 15% plan to do so in the future.

The top three perks employees crave are stipends for off-the-clock exploration (52%), flight upgrades (50%), and airline and hotel rewards for their personal use (45%).

Meanwhile, common stress factors include forgetting key items, missing flights and mastering the art of packing while security lines at airports middle seats are the biggest air travel bug bears.

Nearly a quarter of respondents (22%) say booking ground transport is a headache, and a third are laser-focused punctuality.

Josh Butler, Global GM of Uber for Business, said: “By understanding both what employees want and what stresses them on the ground, companies have a chance to rethink their approach to business travel, transforming what could seem an obligation into a rewarding, engaging experience – for employee and client alike.”
