Turkish Airlines is set to launch flights to the Australian city of Melbourne.
The move follows Chairman Ahmet Bolat’s media announcement to start flights in 2024.
Turkish Airlines stated: “Our Incorporation decided to start operating scheduled flights, based on market conditions, to Melbourne in Australia.”
No other details were disclosed but it is believed an Istanbul to Melbourne route will fly via Singapore.
Transport Minister Catherine King recently approved Turkish Airlines’ request to increase the number of flights it operates into Australia.
