Trees4Travel signs two new partnerships

Sustainability technology company Trees4Travel has announced two new partnerships in the business travel sector.

It has joined forces with Capita Travel and Events and also with Travelogix, the travel management data specialists.

For Capita, Trees4Travel will provide a simple platform enabling customers to plant trees as they travel.

Journey details will be automatically added to their account dashboard and show a breakdown of the carbon footprint of their trips and the number of trees required to offset the travel.

Kirsty Given, Head of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability at Capita Travel and Events, said: “This exciting new partnership with Trees4Travel is another step forward in our commitment to support our customers with their corporate responsibility and sustainability aspirations.”

Meanwhile, the new partnership with Travelogix will roll out in two phases.

From this month, Travelogix will automate the supply of trip data directly to Trees4Travel for subscribed TMCs and their corporate customers.

The data supplied by Travelogix will allow Trees4Travel to determine how many trees need to be planted to offset the carbon emissions related to each trip and report back to Travelogix for sustainability tracking purposes.

The second phase of the project will allow TMCs and their clients to visualise the progress of their sustainability programme with Trees4Travel at an agency and client level.

Travelogix will make the Trees4Travel integration available free of charge to all users of its Analytix data management platform.

Nico Nicholas, CEO of Trees4Travel, said: “Travelogix’ adoption of the Trees4Travel system means the calculation, purchase and ongoing monitoring of a company’s carbon footprint is all provided direct to its business travel manager and the corporate clients at the click of a mouse. It really is as simple as that”.

Chris Lewis, Founder & CEO at Travelogix, added: Sustainability has always been a hot topic in travel but certainly as we move into a post-Covid-19 society we will see this become even more crucial.

“We are genuinely excited to be working with Trees4Travel and empowering TMCs and travellers alike to make better and more sustainable decisions while travelling.”

Trees4Travel, which arranges plantation of indigenous saplings on sanctioned reforestation projects, has already partnered with other key players in travel management, including Focus Travel Partnership, the BTA and Sabre.
