Travelodge supports NHS workers

Travelodge is keeping just under 50 of its 570-plus hotels open in the UK to provide accommodation for NHS staff and other key workers and to house vulnerable people.

The budget hotel chain is continuing to operate 20 hotels close to major hospitals, plus 10 across London.

In addition, Travelodge is supporting around 30 local councils around the UK providing accommodation for vulnerable groups.

Shakila Ahmed, Travelodge spokeswoman, said: “In these unprecedented times, our hotel teams across the UK are working enormously hard, under great pressure, to support the national efforts.

We have hotels open from Aberdeen to Plymouth, providing accommodation for critical workers and other groups. This includes 20 hotels close to major hospitals such as our London Excel Travelodge (pictured) which is our closest hotel to the new Nightingale hospital.”

He added: “We are reviewing daily which hotels are best positioned to support the needs that arise with the government while ensuring we comply with the restrictions in place to protect the public.”
