What does it mean to you to win a 2024 Business Travel People Award?
Winning the award was absolutely fantastic. It made me so proud of myself and my team. I wouldn’t be where I am without them. A huge thanks to Mel for putting me forward and believing in me.
How did you feel when your name was called?
Thrilled. I honestly can’t put it into words — to be a finalist was amazing, but to win… just wow!
What was the reaction of your family, friends and colleagues when you won the award?
They are so proud of me. My family are my biggest fans. Although my daughter was on holiday, she was on FaceTime with one of my girls and saw me win.
How do you think winning the award will impact your profile in the wider industry?
My LinkedIn requests after the awards ceremony said it all. The amount of people who came up to me that evening to congratulate me was humbling. Clients and travel industry friends and colleagues contacted me to share their congratulations.
What advice would you give to anyone considering entering the awards?
Go for it. The feeling of being a finalist is amazing and to win, again… just wow.
Where will you be keeping your award?
It’s on my desk, next to my flowers and a card that the young ones bought me. I will eventually move it to go with our others and my 2019 one on the reception desk.
