Synergy Global Housing has announced a partnership with GreenFeet as part of an ambitious pledge to reduce its global carbon emissions to net zero by 2030.
The partnership will see Synergy utilise GreenFeet’s technology platform to streamline the collection, measurement and interpretation of carbon emissions data to identify key areas across its global operations to reduce its carbon footprint.
“As Synergy continues to expand globally, it is our responsibility to minimise, and eventually eliminate our carbon footprint,” said President International, Stephen Hanton.
In light of this partnership, Synergy has also committed to working with Science Based Targets in a move that will hold Synergy accountable for its pledges, by providing the organisation with a clearly defined path to reduce emissions in line with the Paris Agreement goals.
The announcements add to a number of sustainability initiatives Synergy is currently developing.
These include the creation of a ‘green leaf’ programme whereby Synergy will work closely with its supply chain to provide guests with more information on each property’s sustainability ranking at apartment selection stage, the removal and replacement of plastic water bottles and plastic toiletries across all owned inventory with a glass carafe and vegan, micro-plastic free ‘Beauty Kubes’, and an internal training programme which educates and empowers associates to make small eco-conscious changes both at work and at home.
