Singapore Airlines to invest in Changi lounges

Singapore Airlines (SIA) will upgrade its SilverKris and KrisFlyer Gold lounges at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2 over the next two years.

The airline plans to invest S$45 million (£25.9m) to enhance lounges at its main hub, expanding the Business Class SilverKris Lounge by 30%.

The work will progress in phases. Completion is expected in mid-2027, when the lounges will offer more space and seating.

They will feature signature elements from SIA’s flagship lounges at Changi Airport Terminal 3 and offer an enhanced variety of food and beverage options.

With improved space and comfort, the Business Class SilverKris Lounge will include a quiet rest area with recliners for pre-flight relaxation. Seating in the redesigned living room area will include wingback chairs, sofa seats and productivity pods. Work will begin in the fourth quarter of this year.

The expanded self-service buffet will feature Asian and Western cuisines. Meanwhile, the new full-service bar will serve barista-made coffee in the morning and signature cocktails in the evening.

Work began on the First Class SilverKris Lounge on 15 April. Once complete, it will have floor-to-ceiling windows, higher ceilings and its bar will also offer morning barista services. Live cooking stations will serve Singaporean, Asian and Western cuisine, while the self-service buffet will be expanded.

Capacity in the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge will double and there will be armchairs for lounging, workstations and dining seats. Restrooms and shower suites will enable customers to freshen up before flights. Work will start in the first half of 2026.

Yeoh Phee Teik, Senior Vice President Customer Experience at Singapore Airlines said: “Building on the success of our Terminal 3 lounges, we are extending our signature hospitality and thoughtfully curated offerings to Terminal 2. This upgrade reaffirms our continued dedication to providing a seamless, world-class experience that meets the high expectations of our discerning customers.”
