What does it mean to you to win a 2024 Business Travel People Award?
I am truly honoured to receive the Outstanding Industry Contribution Award at the Business Travel People Awards. This recognition is not just a reflection of my individual efforts, but also a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire team at Inntel.
How did you feel when your name was called?
Absolutely thrilled — I’m not sure I can capture the feeling in words — and also grateful.
What was the reaction of your family, friends and colleagues when you won the award?
The messages I received were overwhelming. Everyone is so proud. They all thought I would win, whereas I didn’t. So they were all a bit smug about that!
How do you think winning the award will impact your profile in the wider industry?
Throughout my career in the business travel industry, I have always believed in the importance of fostering relationships, innovation, and sustainability. Winning this award reinforces my commitment to these values and motivates me to continue striving for excellence in everything we do. Winning the award will help me continue to do that and hopefully bring others with me on the journey.
What advice would you give to anyone considering entering the awards?
Do it. Even to be nominated or shortlisted is a huge achievement and you really have nothing to lose.
Where will you be keeping your award?
At the office. Although it’s got my name on it, I can only do the things I get to do because of the entire team.
