The Business Travel Magazine’s new-look website, thebusinesstravelmag.com, was named Best Trade Publication Online at the Travel Media Awards this week.
The website was re-launched during the pandemic as part of a group-wide strategy to develop online content and expand digital reach.
“It’s so great that our hard work has been recognised by the judges in these prestigious awards,” said Editor Bev Fearis.
“The last 18 months have been challenging for the whole travel industry – including its media – so I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved.
“Through our website and weekly newsletter we continue to keep the business travel sector updated with the latest news, which has been particularly important during the pandemic. But we have also developed our digital platforms to provide podcasts, videos, engaging features, expert insights, online surveys, reviews and more, all designed to inform, educate and support the corporate travel buyer community.
“Our enhanced online presence has also allowed us to support industry campaigns, working alongside trade associations such as the BTA and the GBTA, and to widen our readership beyond the UK.
“Our success in these awards has shown we’re moving in the right direction and we have more exciting online initiatives planned.”
The bi-monthly Business Travel Magazine was also a shortlisted finalist in the print category, alongside its sister publications Selling Travel Magazine and Onboard Hospitality, all part of BMI Publishing. The online award was shared with TTG.
Winners were announced at a ceremony on Monday night at the Kimpton Fitzroy London Hotel, in association with The Italian National Tourist Board.
Over 250 people attended the celebrations, including Paralympic medalist, TV presenter and journalist Ade Adepitan, who was presented with the Special Contribution Award.
