Prestigious award for The Business Travel Magazine

The Business Travel Magazine has been named Best Trade Publication Print in this year’s Travel Media Awards.

Last year it was voted Best Trade Publication Online for its new-look website, thebusinesstravelmag.com.

“We’re so honoured to have been recognised for a second consecutive year in these prestigious awards,” said Editor Bev Fearis.

“While we’ve invested heavily in our digital content in the last few years, we remain committed to our magazine because we know many of our readers still like nothing better than having a print publication in their hands.

“In the current fast-changing environment we’ve worked hard to make sure our magazine stays timely and relevant for our readers, which has often meant changing our content at a late stage. It has also seen us introduce special editions, such as our Sustainability Special in May/June, to reflect the sharp focus on sustainable business travel.

“Meanwhile, our fantastic design team has continued to work hard to make sure our magazine content is eye-catching and engaging.”

Over 300 people were present to see the best of the UK travel media honoured at the awards, which took place at the Dorchester on September 26.

“Sadly I wasn’t able to join my colleagues at the Travel Awards ceremony this year, due to being at the BTA Conference, but I was able to celebrate in Belfast with my industry friends and colleagues, which was great fun,” added Fearis.

The Business Travel Magazine was the joint winner of the trade print award, alongside TTGmedia.com.

In total, 22 publications, broadcasters, journalists, and photographers were honoured with a prestigious award, including entrepreneur, travel writer and co-founder of Lonely Planet, Tony Wheeler, who was presented with the Special Contribution Award.
