On the move: the latest industry appointments

Victoria Houston, formerly Global Business Development Manager for Trees4Travel, has joined luxury tour operator Abercrombie & Kent as Agency Sales Manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland for the A&K and Cox & Kings brands. An announcement said her “expertise in the sustainability industry and ability to communicate the value of partnerships” will be invaluable in her new role. Prior to Trees4Travel, Houston held various management roles at LUSH Retail and Enterprise Rent-a-Car.

Daniel Norris, previously Vice President Partnerships at Katanox, has joined Berlin-based hotel management software specialist ehotel in the role of Regional Director of Sales. Before joining Katanox in March 2023, Norris spent 11 years working at Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, most recently as Director TMC and Corporate Sales Europe.

Kelly Thompson has joined Global Travel Management (GTM) in the newly-created role of Technical Support Specialist. She joins from Meon Valley Business Travel where she spent nearly 30 years, most recently as IT & Business Support Manager. Before that she worked for Travelport. Scott Pawley, GTM Managing Director, said: “As we continue to expand the business and the range of technologies we deploy, it’s crucial that we have someone on-board to own the technical support role.”

Heidi Shewring has been appointed Director of Sales for veSpace, a global sourcing and event management company. Shewring was previously Senior Account Director, Client Engagement at Inizio Engage XD and before that was Client Relationship Director at Ashfield Event Experiences. In her new role at veSpace she will support the company’s “strategic vision and enhance cross-divisional synergies”.

Hyatt has appointed two new Senior Vice Presidents to support the business’s ongoing growth journey in the Europe, Africa and Middle East (EAME) region. Peter Norman, who has led Hyatt’s development efforts in the region since 2006, has been appointed as the SVP Corporate Development and Owner Relations for EAME, where he will focus on strategic owner relations and portfolio expansion. Felicity Black-Roberts, formerly the Vice President Development for Western Europe, has been promoted to SVP Development for EAME.
