On the move: HeadBox, HotelHub, Situ and more

Karen Hutchings, former EY Global Head of Travel, Meetings & Events, has joined event tech scale-up HeadBox, a B2B digital events platform. She will support its continued growth as well as help the business prepare its strategic expansion into new geographical markets. Hutchings was instrumental in the adoption of HeadBox Business as part of EY’s UK meetings and events programme and sat on HeadBox’s sustainability innovation panel, helping it to launch HeadBox Zero, its suite of sustainability tools for meetings and events.

Jane Worrow, previously Partnership Director at Grasp Technologies, has joined HotelHub as Director of Product Marketing. She was with Grasp for five years and before that worked at Conferma and previously Chambers Travel Management as Director of UK Sales.

Jake Seage has joined the Situ team as Account Director of Business Travel, reporting directly to Managing Director Rebecca Gonzaga. He will be responsible for overseeing Situ’s “ever-growing” portfolio of corporate accounts, identifying ways to add value, and simplifying processes. Seage was previously Head of Sales and Reservations at STAY.

Julie Shorrock, Managing Director of Hotel and Travel Solutions (HTS), has become Chair of beam, the UK tradeassociation for the Business Events, Accommodation and Meetings industry, for 2024. Shorrock, who was previously Vice Chair and has been a Board Director for many years, succeeds Sian Sayward who becomes Immediate Past Chair and continues as Governance Director. The new Vice Chair is Ryan Doyle, beam’s Supplier Membership Director and Group Sales and Business Development Director of Switch Hospitality, and the Incoming Chair in 2025 will be Ian Brown.

Festive Road has added two new roaders to its Business Travel and Meetings Practices, bringing the total team to over 40. Michelle Wheatley, based in Birmingham, brings over 15 years of meetings experience, much of it gained by delivering flagship global events for EY. Jon Webster, based in Sydney, joins from the commercial payments sector.
