Wizz Air is to stop flying from Cardiff this month, blaming the “challenging macro-economic environment and high operational costs including fuel”. The airline opened the Welsh base in April 2022 and is currently operating two routes from the airport to Milan and Bucharest, but said flights will cease from January 25.

Diaz has over 20 years’ experience in corporate travel, ground transportation, payments, and travel management, joining Travel Planet in 2019 after working with American Express for nine years.
