News in brief: Locke, Travelport

By Bev Fearis, published 9/12/20

Here’s a round-up of other business travel news this week:

Locke will launch its fourth London aparthotel, Kingsland Locke, in the heart of Dalston in January 2021. The property will house 124 studio apartments, as well as an on-site microbrewery and gin distillery, all-day restaurant, complimentary co-working space, workout studio and coffee shop. Rooms will start from £115 per night.

Travelport has added a new Stay Safe feature for agents connected to its API or Smartpoint agency desktop solution. Stay Safe is a searchable amenity which enables hotels to show travel agents they have signed up to industry-wide safety initiatives, within the agent’s booking workflow, making it easier for travel agents to share this information with their travellers.

OYO has opened a 94-room property in the centre of Plymouth. OYO has partnerships with over 250 established independent hotels in the UK but this is its first new hotel. OYO Plymouth Central is on New George Street, above the Poundland retail store, and was previously office space. The site was bought and developed into a three-star hotel by Red Lions Estate, which will operate the property in partnership with hotel brand OYO.
