News in brief: GBTA, edyn and more

TransPennine Express has announced extra train services on its Glasgow-Manchester route from August 16. Two additional services will be added between the two cities, boosting connectivity between Glasgow Central, Motherwell, Lockerbie, Carlisle, Penrith, Oxenholme, Lancaster, Preston, Manchester Oxford Road, Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport.

The GBTA has confirmed that its 2021 European conference will now be in Berlin, on December 6-8. Held in partnership with VDR, the event was initially due to take place on October 13-15 in Weisbaden but plans were changed after potential delegates were surveyed to find out if they would prefer for the event to be postponed.

Finnair is now welcoming fully-vaccinated UK travellers back onboard flights between the UK and Finland without any quarantine or testing requirements. The carrier will operate up to 21 weekly scheduled services between the UK and Finland in August, with flights from Heathrow, Manchester and Edinburgh to Helsinki.

Extended stay specialist edyn has pledged 100 free nights to NHS workers in partnership with NHS rewards initiative, Nights On Us. The pledge – which totals to 50 two-night stays – will be shared across the edyn portfolio at four of its Locke and Cove locations over the coming months.
