News in brief: Collinson, Situ and more

Collinson has announced plans to more than double the number of Priority Pass lounges worldwide that will offer its Ready 2 Order food and beverage system, which was introduced during the Covid pandemic. Collinson is gradually rolling out the service to an additional 30 locations globally, with a view for them all to be up and running next year.

Marriott will open its first European dual premium-brand Marriott and Sheraton hotel next year. The Frankfurt Airport property is due to open in January 2022 following an extensive three-year renovation. It will be the largest airport hotel in Europe with 58 meeting spaces and a total of 1,012 guestrooms.

Situ, the serviced apartment agency, has adopted what3words location technology into its core platforms to help guests find their accommodation. The what3words address will appear on the Situ website and on all booking confirmations. What3words allows users to identify precise locations because every 3-metre square in the world has been given a unique combination of three words. 

Venuedirectory.com has introduced a new Carbon Neutral logo to be displayed on each venue on its website which has achieved a recognised carbon neutral status. To gain this accolade, venues have to “demonstrate a clear commitment to sustainability, prove that they completely understand their environmental impact and contribution to global warming and also offset their carbon footprint through recognised schemes”.
