News in brief: Blacklane, Conferma and more

Chauffeur specialist Blacklane will roll out its chauffeur hailing services in 21 cities across 11 countries this month, starting with London, New York, Dubai, Berlin and Paris this week. It already offers scheduled rides in 50 countries but is now starting to introduce on-demand chauffeuring. Unlike ride-hailing, the company sets fares by the shortest distance only, so users don’t have to pay for traffic delays.

Conferma Pay has expanded its role in the SAP Concur partner programme, providing virtual payment technology across all SAP Concur travel and expense products. The agreement builds on a successful multi-year partnership for travel payments and expense, which has also been extended.

Park Plaza has launched a dedicated ‘Reassuring Meetings & Events’ programme, designed to enhance safety measures across its hotels. The programme includes flexible terms and conditions, hybrid solutions, contactless experiences, a dedicated planner for each event, and further Covid safety measures, such as temperature checks, hand sanitising stations and revised capacities.

Malaysia Airlines has announced plans to introduce the Digital Travel Health Pass, incorporating modules from IATA’s Travel Pass, to its mobile app. The pass will allow passengers to make appointments with certified medical partners to carry out a Covid-19 RT-PCR test and to upload their vaccination certificate. The airline said further details would be shared in the coming weeks.
