News in brief: BA, GSA and more

British Airways will start operating a second daily flight from London Heathrow Terminal 5 to Cairo from October 31. The service will operate on BA’s short-haul Airbus fleet. Services will run year-round with a slight change in schedules from March 27 2022.

Global Secure Accreditation has acquired ISAAP, the programme of compliance and quality accreditation set up by the Association of Serviced Apartment Providers, after an extensive RFP process. It will take over full ownership from September 1. James Foice, ASAP CEO, said he was sure the separation “will remove any potential conflicts of interest we may face as we continue to grow”. 

A new subscription-based global marketplace has launched this month to connect airlines, agents and GDS and allow them to buy and sell air products using IATA’s NDC standard. NDCMarketplace.com has been developed by Dubai-based travel technology firm, IATA NDC and One Order-certified IT Provider, TPConnects. 

LGH Hotels Management has announced a multi-million pound refurbishment plan, beginning this month with a £4 million first phase to develop an open-plan lobby concept with space to eat, meet, relax, socialise and work at the Holiday Inn Bristol Filton, followed by Holiday Inn properties at Glasgow Airport, Cambridge and Edinburgh.
