News in brief: HotelHub, Element and more…

HotelHub has launched Rate Optimiser, which uses advanced machine learning to monitor current bookings in line with a corporate’s preferences and automatically re-shops for better hotel rates. As well as shopping for lower prices, HotelHub Rate Optimiser allows TMCs or corporates to set search parameters based on better hotel amenities, room type, commission optimisation and other criteria. It also automates cancellation and rebooking of the rate without the need for manual intervention.

American Express GBT has appointed Dan Beauchamp as Head of Consulting for the EMEA region. He was previously GBT Director of Global Clients Management, responsible for leading a global client management team and overseeing end-to-end ownership of key accounts. Before joining GBT he worked for HRG. He replaces Philip Haxne, who will transition into a new role as GBT’s Head of Innovation.

Focus Travel Partnership has appointed Anne Marie Crawford as Business Development Manager to grow both partnership numbers and corporate business on behalf of the 54 Focus partner travel management companies. Crawford previously held roles at hotel groups Marriott, Accor and InterContinental Hotel Group and most recently worked at Inntel.

Singapore Airlines has re-opened its SilverKris Lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 2. It follows a steady growth in the airline’s UK schedule and Singapore’s status on the UK’s green list for travel. First Class and Business Class sections of the lounge are now welcoming customers travelling with both Singapore Airlines and Star Alliance member airlines. 

Element has become an authorised reseller and consulting partner for Zoho Expense, an end-to-end travel and expense management solution for businesses of any size. Element says the partnership will help TMCs and corporates streamline T&E and manage employee expense. Element will also look to partner with TMCs to support their clients needs for a modern expense management solution.

Festive Road has appointed Nicola Lomas to support growing demand for its products and services. A former chair of the ITM, Lomas held buyer roles at global companies including Omnicom Group and IFS, plus senior sales and partnership management roles with American Express, American Airlines and International SOS.

Advantage Travel Partnership has added Jyrney, a mobility solutions platform, as a preferred business partner. Jyrney enables mobility as a service for TMCs through its booking platform, which includes on demand and pre-book private hire, taxi, and chauffeur services. Advantage is Jyrney’s first consortium partner in the UK.
