Travelodge is set to open three new hotels in Spain: San Sebastian, Cadiz and Alicante. The 78-room San Sebastian property will be located in Astigarraga. It will comprise two accessible rooms. Cadiz, meanwhile, will be located at Gibraltar Street in the Zona Franca. It will have 103 rooms, including four accessible rooms. The Alicante property, which is set to be built in Avenida Aguilera 28, will house 82 rooms and two accessible rooms. All three hotels will feature Travelodge’s in-house restaurant, 85 Bar Café.
Singapore Airlines has expanded its codeshare agreement with Air India. The partnership will see 11 Indian cities and 40 international destinations added to its network. From October 27 2024, both airlines will codeshare on each other’s flights between Singapore and the Indian cities of Bengaluru and Chennai. This will increase the total weekly schedule codeshare services between the countries from 14 to 56.
Amadeus has signed a New Distribution Capability (NDC) agreement with Delta Air Lines. The extended partnership will see Delta leverage the Amadeus Travel Platform. Travel sellers and buyers will gain access to the airline’s content across multiple channels, including Amadeus Selling Platform Connect, Amadeus Web Services and Cytric Easy.
Ambar Franco has joined Star Alliance as Vice President – Customer Experience. She will lead the development and implementation of initiatives designed to enhance the overall passenger journey. This includes experiences across booking, airports, connecting between flights and continuing loyalty post travel. Franco recently held senior customer experience roles at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
EVA Air has partnered with Airbus to increase Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) development. Over the next 24 months, the agreement will see both companies explore avenues for decarbonisation within EVA Air’s operations, prepare the ecosystem for SAF adoption and ensure infrastructure readiness. Priorities include meeting the required measures to prepare for the update of SAF on commercial flights, establishing procurement processes, managing SAF certification and promoting awareness on regular SAF usage.
