News briefs: Eurostar, Agiito, Norse and Riskline

Eurostar Group, which comprises Eurostar and Thalys, will be the official travel partner of The British Olympic Association, the National Olympic Committee behind Team GB, providing their travel to Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games. The group said it is proud to support Team GB reduce their carbon footprint and has also committed to support ParalympicsGB with their travel plans to provide the most sustainable and appropriately accessible transport options for athletes, with arrangements being confirmed shortly. Eurostar was the official transport provider for French and Belgian athletes during the London 2012 Olympic Games and will continue to provide transport for the Belgian and Dutch Olympians and Paralympians to Paris this year.

Agiito has taken the next step with its meetings booking platform, Meetingspro, by launching Instant Book. Developed by Agiito’s in-house Business Solutions and Venue Find teams, in conjunction with long-term partners Venue Directory, Instant Book is an end-to-end online booking experience where bookers can view availability, calculate an accurate cost and book their meeting space right there and then.

Norse Atlantic will start flights from London Gatwick to Boston on September 2, one of six new transatlantic routes from the airport. The airline, which began flying daily between Gatwick and New York last August, has created a permanent base at Gatwick after recently adding routes to Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Washington. A new service to Los Angeles started on June 30 and to San Francisco on July 1. These new routes mean Norse now has six aircraft based at Gatwick, 250 cabin crew and 108 pilots on local contracts at London Gatwick, as well as a further 25 support staff.   

Travel risk intelligence company, Riskline, has launched Travel Search Widget, an easy-to-embed tool designed to assist travel providers in giving their customers instantaneous personalised travel information. The Widget forms the latest part of Riskline’s WorldInsights series, which aggregates a variety of information about travellers’ destinations, including an overall trip assessment, upcoming events, possible disruptions, safety threats, health, visa and document requirements.
