News briefs: Etihad, A4E, SkyLink and Advantage

Etihad Airways and Vietnam Airlines, the national carrier of Vietnam, have signed a frequent flyer partnership agreement to allow loyalty members of either airline to earn and redeem miles across both networks from 1 July 2025. Etihad will begin flights to Hanoi in November as one of 16 new destinations the airline is launching this year. The inaugural will create a new bridge between Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates and offer more value to loyalty members of both airlines.

Airlines for Europe A4E member airlines have started applying the guaranteed set of dimensions of 40 × 30 × 15 cm for the item of cabin baggage that usually is placed under the seat in front- the “personal item”- agreed by member states last month. The agreement reached in June 5 sets out the dimensions of the personal item, which passengers can already bring into the cabin at no extra cost.

BCD Travel has signed a strategic partnership with SkyLink, an interactive AI-based corporate travel assistant. This next-generation technology offers a fully autonomous chat-based booking experience focused on improving productivity and efficiency for travellers, travel arrangers and agents while driving program compliance and cost savings for customers.

Advantage Travel Partnership has signed a new strategic payment partnership with ConnexPay providing services and solutions to its members and their customer base. Connexpayoffers an all-in-one payment platform for businesses, connecting incoming customer sales and outgoing supplier payments, thereby enhancing transparency and reconciliation, in turn, simplifying the payment process.
