Turkish Airlines has placed a new order with Boeing for 75 wide-body Boeing 787-9 and 787-10 aircraft. The order consists of 50 firm orders, with 25 optional, to be delivered between 2029 and 2034. The airline is continuing negotiations with the manufacturers Rolls-Royce and GE Aerospace. As the airline’s 100th anniversary approaches, its ‘Vision 2033’ sets out the objective of expanding the Turkish fleet beyond 800 aircraft and increasing the proportion of next-generation aircraft to 90% by 2033 and to 100% by 2035.

Etihad Airways has introduced flights between Abu Dhabi and Peshawar in Pakistan. Etihad operates flights to 83 destinations worldwide, including Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. “With this new service, we are going beyond connecting families and friends, we are also welcoming more visitors from Pakistan to discover Abu Dhabi as a vibrant global business and tourism destination,” said Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways.

United Airlines is making the connecting experience easier on select international routes with the introduction of International Remote Baggage Screening (IRBS). The new U.S. Customs and Border Protection initiative for connecting passengers with checked bags eliminates the need to re-check bags, reducing the potential to miss connections. IRBS is currently available for United passengers travelling from Sydney to San Francisco with a connecting flight to a final destination. Its availability will be expanded over the months ahead.
