Chauffeur specialist Carey International has completed a £2.5 million upgrade to its London fleet with the delivery of a new Mercedes S 580e. It means the company’s saloon car fleet now consists entirely of electric and hybrid-electric vehicles, marking a significant milestone in Carey’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. As part of its Science Based Targets initiative, Carey has pledged to reduce its global emissions by 50% by 2030.

Barriers at the exits to Manchester Airport’s pick-up and drop-off zones will be removed between Wednesday 26 March and Wednesday 2 April while the airport switches to a new payment system for its drop-off and pick-up charges. The new technology will be managed through an automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system like that already in use at some other UK airports. Rather than stopping at a barrier and paying as they leave the area, drivers will leave and then pay the charge by midnight the following day, online or over the phone. Frequent users, including taxi drivers, will be able to set up an auto-pay account.

Wings Global Travel has reported its best ever quarter for Groups. Meetings and Events (GME). The TMC, which announced expansion of its GME team last autumn, reported sales more than double the same period last year in the three months from December to February. Gary Povey, Chief Operating Officer, said: “While travel budgets as a whole remain under pressure, we’re seeing a shift from ad hoc travel to more intentional spending as buyers look to maximise value and measurable outcomes.”
