News briefs: Aer Lingus, Katanox, London City, Uber for Business and more

Aer Lingus has extended its 10kg carry-on baggage policy across all Aer Lingus Regional flights operated by Emerald Airlines. Every fare type includes a 10kg bag as standard, which can be checked in free of charge or carried on board for a fee. The policy extends to all flights between Ireland and the UK, domestic flights within Ireland and the UK and all European flights. Customers who book a Plus or Advantage fare with Aer Lingus or Aer Lingus Regional enjoy a free 10kg carry-on bag, no matter where they’re flying. Customers booking a Saver fare can pay to take a bag on board or check it into the hold for free. AerClub members holding Silver, Platinum and Concierge tier status will also enjoy the 10kg carry-on baggage benefit.

Katanox has launched Katanox Capital, a settlement and liquidity infrastructure that changes how money moves in the hospitality industry. It replaces card-based, post-facto settlement with guaranteed, account-to-account payouts tied directly to booking certainty. Travel agents can settle on a consolidated monthly basis and hotels are paid directly to their bank accounts in daily, non-reversible batches. The new infrastructure unifies payments and bookings to deliver guaranteed settlement and improved liquidity, while reducing costs for hotels, travel agents and corporate buyers.
