Named Brooklyn and featuring décor inspired by the New York borough, the Bespoke Hotels property features 189 New York loft-style bedrooms.
Set within Manchester’s old industrial district where Victorian brownstone warehouses are being transformed into luxury apartments and offices, architects Squid Inc were reminded of Brooklyn and wanted to channel that into the hotel’s design.
The industrial feel of the architecture is softened by the lobby interior with brick stone and trees lining the walls.
Beyond the lobby, a set of wide-paced steps form a communal hangout space paying homage to the iconic stoops of Brooklyn.
Among the hotel’s other design-led communal areas, The Snug is a modern play on traditional Victorian drawing rooms with an open fireplace and a record player spinning vintage records from the Manchester music scene.
Inside the rooms, guests will find brass bedsteads, Turkish rugs on concrete floors and high-end bathrooms contrasting with street art on the walls.
Bathroom amenities include organic bamboo toothbrushes and ethically sourced toothpaste, green soap and lotion dispensers with minimum waste.
Guests can dine on dishes such as Billy’s Bacon Fried Rice and Oscar’s BLT Wedge and Hash Browns at the hotel’s Runyon’s restaurant, while Salvation bar on the top floor of the hotel will feature exposed brick work, pop art and neon lights.
