Slated for a site on Vauxhall Bridge Road, construction on the 10-storey hotel will begin in May next year using CitizenM’s innovative prefabrication method.
Square room modules will be built and furnished in a factory before being assembled to make up the hotel on site, featuring CitizenM’s signature clean lines and modern artwork on the facades.
The hotel’s interiors will be designed by CitizenM’s Amsterdam-based partner Concrete, and will feature furniture from long-term collaborator Vitra.
Rooms include the brand’s custom XL king-sized beds, powerful rain showers and large flat screen TVs. Innovative technology includes online check-in and in-room mood pads.
CitizenM hotels’ CEO, Klaas van Lookeren Campagne, says: “We are excited to have completed this transaction after securing planning consent in a prime location in Westminster.
“With three hotels already operating successfully in London, this new property will offer a fantastic addition to our existing portfolio and confirms our commitment to expand further in London’s most desirable neighbourhoods.”
CitizenM opened its London Bankside hotel in 2012, followed by its Tower of London and Shoreditch properties in 2016.
