Travelodge has officially launched Travelodge Business to help businesses restart their business travel programme post-pandemic and says nearly 1,000 companies are now signing up each week.
Billed as a bespoke one-stop service, the scheme was created after asking 3,000 businesses, of different sizes and in different sectors, what they need as they emerge from the national lockdown.
The key findings, alongside feedback from a series of business travel-themed focus groups, helped define the features and design of the new product, which was soft-launched in May.
All Travelodge’s existing business users have now been transferred over to the new service and the group says, on average, nearly 1,000 new companies are now signing up each week.
The budget chain claims a large company could save up to £250,000 on its annual hotel spend while SMEs could save 1,000 each year.
Customers with Travelodge Business Account card can enjoy all the benefits of Travelodge Business and also get six weeks interest free credit, including room bookings, WiFi and food and drink in the hotel Bar Café.
Craig Bonnar, Travelodge Chief Executive, said: “We are seeing green shoots that business travel is restarting across the UK as businesses recognise that travel is important to success. Business travel is often about building relationships and some face-to-face meetings are essential.
“Our research shows company bosses are concerned about their bottom line and how they can make business travel affordable and safe in the ‘New Normal’, which is why we have invested in Travelodge Business.”
Benefits of the scheme include a personalised booking process, where a traveller’s favourite locations, preferences and payment details are saved, plus the option to add multiple bookers or guests, download VAT invoices and get detailed reporting on all bookings.
A dedicated Business Support team helps customers with all of their bookings and account management while large account holders also have a dedicated account manager.
Guests can enjoy 5% off flexible room rates with early access offers at the group’s 590-plus hotels across the UK, Ireland and Spain.
