What did it mean to you to win a 2025 Business Travel People Award?
Honestly, it was just amazing. I think the photo taken on the evening shows how shocked I was! I adore our industry, and I’ve been lucky to have worked in travel for over 30 years now. The award meant the world to me as it meant being recognised by both our fantastic customers and some outstanding judges who represent the best of the best in our sector. It has been the highlight of my travel career.
How did you feel when your name was called?
So shocked and speechless (and that doesn’t happen often). I actually thought someone on the table had said my name over the actual winner! I was so honoured and couldn’t stop smiling.
What was the reaction of your family, friends and colleagues when you won the award?
My friends, family and colleagues couldn’t be happier and thrilled for me. Without so much love and support, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I’ve had to send photos far and wide to share that special moment! I’ve had some great messages from all around the world which is amazing!
How do you think winning the award will impact your profile in the wider industry?
I am passionate about the travel industry and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. It’s such a privilege to work within this sector and I hope the award demonstrates how much our industry is people led. Relationship building and communication is key and I am always keen to share any of my experiences with colleagues across all the sectors.
What advice would you give to anyone considering entering the awards?
Please do it! The lead-up to the event is a special time and you really feel part of a great industry that is recognising all the hard work so many of us do. It’s a chance to shine and feel an immense sense of achievement surrounded by great industry colleagues.
