Leadership Team TripStax, Technology Innovator of the Year

The TripStax Leadership team got the 'seal of approval that hard work pays off' after being voted Technology Innovator of the Year

What does it mean to you to win a 2023 Business Travel People Award?

We are incredibly proud to win this award. The fact that the judges chose TripStax is so important to us as it’s a huge endorsement of what we set out to achieve in bringing our tech proposition to market. It gives us validation that we are on the right track in reimagining the tech ecosystem that underpins travel management for the benefit of our TMC customers, as well as providing technology solutions for suppliers and partners.

How did you feel when your name was called?

We were astonished! It took a moment to sink in and realise that the team needed to get up from the table and go on stage. We really weren’t expecting our name to be called out as all the other finalists in this category are impressive tech innovators too, so we were up against strong competition.

What was the reaction of your family, friends and colleagues when you won the award?

Everyone in our organisation is thrilled that we won this award. It’s a seal of approval that hard work pays off, and even more so when you’re surrounded by incredible people who are prepared to be vulnerable, authentic and stand by one another throughout the roller coaster of early growth in a business. Our friends and family were pretty excited for us too!

How do you think winning the award will impact your profile in the wider industry?

We definitely hope that it will encourage potential clients to want to find out more about how we are challenging the industry’s historically complex tech integrations and transactional economics to help TMCs to manage data more consistently and cost-effectively for their corporate clients.

What advice would you give to anyone considering entering the awards in 2024?

Go for it! It’s the taking part that counts. Even being shortlisted is an honour in such a competitive industry.

Where will you be keeping your award?

We did think about taking it in turns to look after the award, in our various home offices and ‘sheds’ as everyone at TripStax works remotely. But in the end, we felt it was best that our CTO, Scott Wylie, was the guardian of the award as he is our biggest champion of innovation.
