Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels UK and Ireland have unveiled a new customer commitment charter for their 48 hotels and corporate offices in the UK and Ireland.
The ‘Stay Safe, Stay Happy’ five-point plan has been developed in preparation for re-opening hotels in the coming weeks.
The group plans to open hotels in phases, starting with Ireland from July 20, based on guidance from health authorities and the UK Government.
The new charter was drawn up in close co-operation with the Environmental Health Organisation and following guidance from the World Health Organisation.
It covers hygiene, social distancing, cashless operation, food and beverage, and staff training.
The hotel groups are also working with supplier, Ecolab, on introducing recommended deep cleaning products and processes to enhance cleanliness standards across all areas of its hotels.
Sanitising stations will be installed in lobbies, receptions, lifts and other key areas. Hotels will put two-metre floor markings in every reception and protective screens at all reception desks.
All hotels will operate a reduced food and beverage offering, which will be detailed in a welcome letter to guests upon arrival.
Breakfast will be made available as a continental option delivered to the room.
Managing Director Jason Carruthers said: “Our utmost priority remains the health, safety and wellbeing of our guests, team members and the wider community during these unprecedented times. Ensuring we respond and innovate now to meet the new mindset and environment will be critical as we help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
“We’ve worked hard to ensure we’ve implemented the most relevant mitigating actions and precautionary measures to help prevent the spread of the virus within our hotels and across all of our operations buildings – wherever our teams and guests are.”
