Joined-up thinking

Clarity Business Travel is converging its travel and meetings platforms into one entity. Carl Law, Chief Technology Officer, explains what this means for clients

What will Clarity’s bookings tech do that it couldn’t before?

We’re transforming how organisations plan, book and manage meetings and travel by converging our travel platform, ClarityGo, with our meetings platform, MeetingsPro. This has created a single, end‑to‑end experience that allows customers to book meetings with travel together, all within one connected ecosystem.

Why are you developing this functionality?

This has been a dream of mine for several years as there was a clear separation between travel and meetings platforms – which is crazy considering most of the travel requirements are determined by the meeting itself.

We recognised the changing realities of booking corporate travel and meetings, where organisations are under increasing pressure to control spend, meet sustainability goals and fulfil duty of care responsibilities – without compromising the experience for bookers and attendees.

Customers have expressed the need to manage this all within one place to support policy, planning and procurement decisions. Likewise, by speaking to our internal teams, we understand their priorities.

How will this benefit bookers?

Historically, meetings and business travel have been planned and managed through separate systems, often resulting in creating unnecessary cost, duplicated effort, and a disjointed experience.

Bookers will be able to plan meetings and instantly incorporate associated travel or vice versa, while simultaneously viewing total cost, sustainability impact and duty of care implications in one place. This integrated approach removes traditional silos between travel and meetings management, replacing them with a unified, data‑driven experience.

Meeting organisers will see the full picture from the outset: venue costs, delegate travel spend, carbon impact and duty of care considerations combined into a single view. Travel bookers and managers will gain greater insight into meeting‑related travel behaviour, while finance, sustainability and risk teams will benefit from consolidated reporting and management information.

What stage is it currently at?

The two systems co-existing currently, so users can easily move between them. This sets the foundation and we will continue to progress on this journey of convergence, with a comprehensive development roadmap ahead using our award-winning in-house development teams.
