The airline introduced new first, business, premium economy and economy seating on services between London and Tokyo in August.
The new first class product, The Suite, and business class seat, The Room (pictured above), will be fitted on 12 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, the first of which has featured on the London-Tokyo Haneda route since August 2.
ANA collaborated with architect Kengo Kuma and British designers Acumen to create the products, both of which feature enclosed seating and privacy doors.
The airline says the new first class Suites are inspired by luxury Japanese hotels, with new features including privacy doors and 43-inch 4K screens.
Business class ‘Rooms’ are in a forward and aft-facing configuration and have privacy doors that can be adjusted to enable passengers to dine together or conduct meetings.
The two cabins also feature new lighting, bedding in partnership with Nishikawa and a new dining service.
Julie Murphy, the airline’s Country Sales Manager UK & Ireland, says the products were debuted on London services because of both Acumen’s involvement and due to the strength of the route which celebrates 30 years of operations this summer.
The new products will next be rolled-out on ANA’s services to New York and Frankfurt.
Murphy also said “the fare structure remains the same”, indicating there will not be immediate price hikes.
Hideki Kunugi, Executive Vice President of ANA, says:”For ANA to continue to lead and set the global standard for comfort and convenience, we knew that it would be necessary to integrate the latest insights from design professionals as we sought to redesign the flight experience and elevate every aspect of travel for our passengers.”
Ian Dryburgh, Founder and CEO of Acumen, adds: “Our work focused on transforming the cabin experience by fusing the rich history and culture of Japan with modern design principles and technologies.
“Together we have created a striking cabin that has elevated the ANA customer experience to its highest level across all classes.”
The aircraft also features the airline’s new premium economy and economy seating that have recently been installed on ANA B787-10 aircraft.
The redesigned B777s comprise eight first class seats, 64 business class seats, 24 premium economy seats and 116 economy seats.
