The Institute of Travel Management (ITM) has introduced a new taskforce to build inclusive travel programmes.
The initiative prioritises inclusion and accessibility in workplace travel policies. A key focus is to adapt policies for employees with disabilities, both within organisations and when travelling for business.
ITM’s new taskforce comprises leading experts from both supplier and buyer backgrounds. A comprehensive guide and webinar will be produced to equip travel buyers with practical steps toward creating inclusive travel programmes.
Buyers will be equipped with strategies to collaborate with internal stakeholders and travel programmes will be aligned with broader company policies.
The taskforce will hold an initial meeting in January 2025, followed by regular sessions throughout the year.
Proposed topics include the role of travel managers in driving inclusivity, identifying and overcoming barriers within travel policies and leveraging supply chain partnerships to enhance inclusive offerings.
A webinar is also slated for spring 2025. Key points will include policy review, stakeholder alignment and fostering inclusivity within travel programmes.
