InterContinental debuts in Edinburgh

InterContinental Hotels has returned to Edinburgh with the opening of InterContinental Edinburgh - The George. following a multi-million-pound refurbishment.

A unique listed building located in the city’s New Town, InterContinental Edinburgh – The George is positioned close to Edinburgh’s top attractions such as Edinburgh Castle and the Scott Monument.

InterContinental previously operated the hotel before it became The Principle Edinburgh George Street in 2005, but the property has been welcoming guests since 1881, including the likes of Scottish poet Robert Burns and novelist Sir Walter Scott.

Guests have the option of 10 different room types, ranging from the Guest Room Double, with a room size of 15-20 square metres, to suites offering up to 60 square metres of space, including a separate living area and walk-in shower.

The property won Conference Hotel of the Year in 2018 in the Scottish Hotel Awards and its King’s Hall can accommodate up to 300 guests, while the Rose Suite is designed for intimate gatherings or board meetings for up to eight guests.Each event space has 18th century features and the hotel has a dedicated Events Manager.
