Travel booking and expenses platform, Taptrip, was voted the winner of the fourth annual Business Travel Disrupt Award at the Business Travel Show this week.

The tool, designed specifically with SMEs in mind, received the highest score from a panel of judges following five-minute pitches from the five finalists.

Having already been whittled down from a long-list of 12 fledgling ‘disruptor’ companies in an online vote, representatives from CultureMee, Railguard, Raketa, SalesTrip and Taptrip were given the chance to impress the audience and a panel of judges that included The Business Travel Magazine’s Editor, Andy Hoskins.

Taptrip’s prize as victor is a free stand on the main show floor at next year’s Business Travel Show plus marketing and PR support worth up to £10,000.

“We are incredibly flattered, delighted and truly honoured to have won the award, against such an esteemed set of other start-ups disrupting this space,” said Taptrip Founder, Neil Ruth, pictured above (right) with Leonard Cremer (left) of last year’s winner, TroopTravel.

Ruth continued:“These awards are such a great platform to showcase innovation and what makes them both special and important.

“We have followed the growth and success of TroopTravel on the back of last year’s win, we are excited to follow in their footsteps and maximise the array of opportunities that holding this award will bring.”

SalesTrip, a new booking and expense system on the Salesforce platform was runner-up, while third-party ‘delay repay’ company, Railguard, was third.
