European aparthotel group Staycity has opened its second property under its Wilde Aparthotels brand in the German capital of Berlin, with a third to follow in Edinburgh next month.
Wilde Aparthotels by Staycity, Berlin, Checkpoint Charlie is Staycity’s first property in Germany.
The 48-apartment development is part of a new scheme occupying what was the best-known crossing point of the Berlin Wall, which divided East and West Berlin during the Cold War.
In addition, the new Wilde Aparthotels by Staycity, Edinburgh, Grassmarket offers 128 studios and apartments in a central city location, at the foot of Edinburgh Castle.
Facilities within the mixed-use development include a Staycafe offering breakfast and refreshments, a guest lounge and a gym.
The apartments in both properties have extra-large beds with Hypnos mattresses, rainfall showers and high quality bed linen. All have well-equipped kitchens complete with Nespresso machines.
The properties also offer guest laundry facilities, a lounge area, 24-hour reception and the option of self check-in.
Staycity Group’s CEO, Tom Walsh, says: “One of the key prerequisites for Wilde is that they’re central to the heart of the city.
“Both the Berlin and Edinburgh properties are in stunning locations with the best each city has to offer on their doorstep.”
Wilde is Staycity’s premium concept inspired by Irish playwright and poet Oscar Wilde.
The two openings come in a year of rapid expansion for Staycity, which has seen new properties debut in Paris and Venice, as well as site acquisitions in Dublin, Berlin, London, Frankfurt and York.
