Global hotel group Hyatt will expand its luxury portfolio with more than 20 new hotels in 2020, including five new hotels under its Park Hyatt brand.
New Park Hyatt properties will be opened in Qatari capital Doha, Indonesian capital Jakarta and the cities of Niseko, Japan; Suzhou, China; and Auckland, New Zealand.
The Unbound Collection by Hyatt will see strong growth in Europe including the opening of Great Scotland Yard in London – the former location of the metropolitan police headquarters – set to open in December.
Meanwhile, the Hôtel du Palais Biarritz, former imperial residence of Napoleon III, is due to reopen in June 2020 after an extensive renovation.
“Across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, as well as Southwest Asia, luxury properties account for over a third of our portfolio,” says Hyatt’s Group President Peter Fulton.
“Europe in particular, with its unique and historic architecture, represents a natural home for The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand, and as we expand with our lifestyle and independent brands, we are confident our new offerings will cater to high-end travellers who are seeking an unprecedented stay.”
Other new additions to the group’s portfolio include properties under its Andaz, Alila, Grand Hyatt, and Miraval brands.
Three luxury Alila resorts are expected to open in Switzerland, Malaysia and Oman, while six Andaz branded luxury lifestyle properties are due to open in Dubai, UAE; Prague, Czech Republic; Bali, Indonesia; Shenzhen and Xiamen in China, and Palm Springs, California.
The Grand Hyatt brand is also set for growth with new openings in Hefei and the Shenzhou Peninsula in China, Kuwait, Gurgaon in India, Jeju in South Korea, and Nashville, Tennessee, along with the first Grand Hyatt hotel in Saudi Arabia.
