Hyatt Hotels has this week opened its first two hotels in Manchester, one of which also marks the debut of its extended-stay brand in the UK.

The 212-room Hyatt Regency Manchester and the 116-room Hyatt House Manchester Oxford Road are located in the city's landmark Lume building.

They become the third Regency branded hotel in the UK and the first Hyatt House opening in the country.

The latter brand delivers "apartment-style living paired with amenities that help guests maintain work and personal routines while on the road”. All studios and suites at the Hyatt House property have fully equipped kitchens.

The neighbouring Regency hotel features rooms with with floor-to-ceiling windows and Regency Club rooms and suites that come with additional amenities including complimentary breakfast, evening cocktails and canapés.

Shared facilities include The Laureate Restaurant, Graduate Bar, fitness centre and seven meeting rooms, while there’s also the H Market, a 24/7 outlet providing a range of groceries and snacks, at the Hyatt House.

“We look forward to welcoming guests to the first Hyatt hotels in Manchester – one of the UK’s most multicultural cities and a hub for innovative start-ups,” said Assumpta McDonald, general manager of Hyatt Regency and Hyatt House Manchester.

“A city popular for leisure and business travellers, Manchester and its growing commercial center is an ideal destination for having two brands within one building. Located in close proximity to the University, the city center and a number of tourist attractions, we believe that both hotels will attract business and leisure travelers alike.”

The hotels – the seventh and eighth Hyatt-branded properties in the UK – are located in Manchester's University Quarter, a ten-minute walk from the city centre and close to Manchester Oxford Road train station.
