Flybe will continue to operate its direct daily service between London Heathrow and Guernsey this winter, it was announced this week.
The afternoon service will continue through the 2019/20 winter season from October 27th to March 28th.
The service, operated by 78-seat Bombardier Q400 aircraft, provides Guernsey with a connection to London’s largest airport and to numerous onward connections.
“We’ve been closely monitoring this new route since it was introduced to our 2019 Summer programme,” says Roy Kinnear, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer.
“We would like to thank all stakeholders and customers for their continued support of this daily service between Guernsey and Heathrow airport and current demand indicates it has been well received.
“It provides a convenient connection to and from the UK’s largest hub airport, with its many onward connections and extensive choice of travel to other UK destinations.”
Charles Parkinson, President Committee for Economic Development, States of Guernsey, adds: “The Heathrow service has already seen nearly 13,000 passengers fly the route to the end of July, helping to boost air travel to and from the London market by nearly 5%.”
Flybe has also confirmed it is retaining its sixth daily return flight between Heathrow and Edinburgh this winter having been added to its summer schedule for the first time this year.
