Boutique business hotel brand Dakota has unveiled plans to expand across the UK, following the successful launch of its flagship property in central Manchester, which is the fifth property in its portfolio.
The luxury hotel group is scouting potential locations in Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Edinburgh, the M4-corridor, Manchester Airport, Newcastle, Oxford and central London to develop new hotels within the next two years.
Its £30million flagship hotel opened recently close to Manchester Piccadilly train station in the city’s old mill district that’s currently being regenerated with new hotels and modern apartments.
Set beside a canal, the design-led hotel has 137 rooms including 20 luxury suites overlooking the waterway, plus the upscale Dakota Grill serving relaxed gourmet food, an atmospheric Manhattan-style bar and outside Cigar Terrace.
All rooms have boutique furnishings and leather desks, with amenities to cater for business travellers. The hotel also boasts Manchester’s largest penthouse suite.
Dakota Hotels’ Group Operations Director, Andrew Ovenstone, said: “These are exciting times for Dakota and we look forward to expanding our portfolio across the UK and beyond, bringing luxury lifestyle experiences to destinations that matter most.
“Our guests are well-travelled and they appreciate and expect the sophisticated, international standard of hospitality that the Dakota brand delivers.”
The brand currently has five hotels across prime business spots in Northern England and Scotland, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds and the Eurocentral industrial park between Edinburgh and Glasgow.
