Accor launches new budget lifestyle brand

Global hotel group Accor has launched a new economy hotel brand that will feature a collection of boutique individually designed hotels with a focus on upcycling and green credentials.
The community-based hotels will be franchised to owners who will develop them according to the Greet ethos of salvaging, upcycling and repurposing second-hand items.
Accor's only guidelines are that Greet hotels must include the brand’s key fetaures – a logo in the common areas and a large dining table to encourage guests to socialise and share meals, while 20% of the hotel’s rooms must accommodate between four and six people.
The first of the brand’s new hotels has opened in Beaune in the French wine region of Burgundy, with more properties set to debut all around France from Marseille and Lyon to Paris and Bourges.
Accor intends to open 300 Greet hotels in Europe by 2030, with the German city of Darmstadt welcoming the first hotel outside of France in the coming months.
“With the launch of Greet, our aim is simply to provide the ideal solution to independent hotel owners by offering a brand that combines the regeneration of existing hotel structures with cost control, both in terms of renovation and redevelopment of the spaces,” says Accor’s Europe CEO, Franck Gervais.
